Full address provided upon registration.\n\nGeared toward providers of housing, shelter, and human services, this meeting is free and open to the public. Registration is required to help us plan accordingly. We will provide a light breakfast, coffee, and tea starting at 8:30 a.m.\n\nOur agenda features Heidi Groover, a housing reporter for The Seattle Times, in conversation about the housing affordability crisis. We will look at the root causes of this crisis with a national, state, and local lens, and get a clearer picture of contributing factors so we can move forward with good information and a shared understanding.\n\nWe will also have an interactive art activity with our friends at Partner in Print, time to connect with peers in the housing and human service sector, and more…\n \n\nHeidi Groover covers housing and real estate for The Seattle Times. Her work demystifies complex market trends and policy debates to help everyday Seattlites navigate rising costs and understand how proposed solutions could affect their daily lives. Before The Seattle Times, Heidi covered Seattle City Hall for The Stranger. She is a graduate of the University of Montana and a proud member of the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild, the union representing journalists across the Northwest. \n\nThe Coalition on Homelessness provides education and advocacy resources to staff, clients, and board members of organizations that provide housing, shelter, and services to King County. We convene and facilitate monthly meetings, host case manager trainings, share resources and information related to public benefits, budget and policy priorities, and topics of shared interest for our members. We create opportunities for our members to engage in city, county, state, and federal advocacy related to housing, homelessness, and human services.
