Learn How to Speak Up! Join our Budget Advocacy Training
Tuesday, October 8th, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
IN PERSON at Solid Ground (1501 N 45th St, Seattle, WA 98103) Cheryl Cobbs Murphy Room
Join the Seattle Human Services Coalition (SHSC) and the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness (SKCCH) for an IN-PERSON budget advocacy training at Solid Ground in Wallingford. We will have food to share.
This training is open to anyone who wants to raise their voice to make sure the City of Seattle and King County fund essential human services in this year's budget. You'll learn different ways to make your voice heard (it's easy!), how to help someone else speak up, and get a chance to practice different ways to take action.
This training is for you if you:
-
- Live or work in Seattle or King County and care about homelessness or human services
- Are accessing housing, shelter, or other human services to help meet your basic needs
- Work at an organization that serves people experiencing poverty or homelessness
- Are a seasoned advocate, or if you've never done advocacy before!
Note: This in-person training will focus primarily on the Seattle Budget, but the advocacy skills you'll learn are applicable to the King County budget and other policy issues that affect people experiencing poverty.
Questions? Email Hali.
Can't make it to the in-person training? We are also offering another ONLINE Budget Advocacy Training on October 22nd at 10:00-11:30 am - click here to register! Make sure to register even if you can't attend - we will share a recording after the training.
